Responsibilities*
General research administrative work:
- Complex calendaring; clinic closings, special service schedules (HIIP, Consult, etc.)
- Fielding high volume email and phone requests from leaders, sponsors, research staff and patients
- Letter generation for various reasons, including compliance
- Travel and expense reporting, including hosting
- CV/other research profile management
- Assist with annual review process
Clinical Research specifics:
- Website management
- Reporting
- Design graphics/charts for presentations
- Proofreading
- Drafts and/or provides feedback on design/creation of specific documents and workflow's.
- Planning, organizing, managing, and conducting multiple complex projects and initiatives
- Act as liaison with other departments, divisions, and organizations
- Maintain communications for funding opportunities, training opportunities, and important updates to clinical research
- Assists Vice Chair in setting strategic direction for DOIM Clinical Research initiatives and proactively identifying potential issues.
Interdepartmental collaborations:
- BME
- Biostats
Manages the protected time for clinical research program.
Manages all DOIM dedicated clinical research space.
Clinical Research Resources Website
Tracking/ROI for various clinical research initiatives
Actively seek out funding opportunities
Support other research initiatives as needed
Clinical Trials Academy (separate section)
Assist in budget oversight and project contracting with external funders and collaborators
Clinical Trials Academy:
- Send out regular communications
- Act as main liaison for questions across the Med School
- Act as main liaison for trainees and faculty within each cohort
- Marketing/Announcements
? Maintain website
Prepare and review applications, generate acceptance and declined letters
Curriculum/schedule development
Develop and implement interactive approaches to provide content virtually/in-person
When held in-person:
- Room arrangement, setup/tear down
- Tech support
- Food/beverage management
? Create and maintain program database (MBOX/Dropbox)
Arrange for lecturers, statisticians, and faculty mentors
Ensure program materials are sent in by due date for lecturers and trainees
Prepare awards for graduation
Work with finance team to create and reconcile program budget
Faculty and staff lecturer/mentor payments
Keep long-term follow-up of all trainees progress
MEND Divisional Responsibilities (Includes all items related to Rodica's research but not DOIM initiatives):
- Pop-Busui team organization/management:
- updating and revision of SPGs, training and orientation of study staff, organization of coordinator/investigator meetings
- Monday 3-5pm team meeting
- Maintain team databases:
- Serve as main contact for vendors
- Resolve problems as needed
- Arrange for students/med students/visiting scholars
- HR
- Main contact for hiring process
- Onboarding/offboarding procedures
- Support employee evaluation process
- Arrange for employee recognition events
- Team Oversight:
- Sign off on employee timesheets
- Assists team as needed during periods of transition and high-volume workload. Actively maintains competency and relevant certification.
- Ensures that team certifications and trainings are up to date
- Work with PIs and Co-Is to assemble and lead project teams for medium-to-large projects that will require collaboration across multiple departments or staff working groups within team
- Overall Project Management:
- Maintain Reports, Records and Responsibilities:
? Diabetes research:
- Arrange a high-volume complex research-related meetings with both international and national attendees
- Support initiatives for E. Caswell/Steno/CTRSP as needed
- Grant Writing/Development
- Review application requirements and create checklists
- Prepare administrative forms for application (forms F)
- Create infographics/tables
- Proofreading
- Help prepare slides for presentations
- Ensure proper handling/distribution of manuscripts (PubMed Central)
Required Qualifications*
- Bachelor degree
- 0-2 years experience
Desired Qualifications*
- 3-4 years clinical research experience, experience with Michigan Medicine policies and procedures
Background Screening
Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings. Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
